For every INGAA job

Work standard

What every INGAA job must meet. INGAA Trained Professionals are trained and checked against this list.

The programme is being set up, so this standard is still a draft.

Safety

  • Do only the work you are trained, checked and legally allowed to do.
  • Check the site is safe before starting. If it is not, stop and ask for help.
  • Use the right tools and safety gear for the job.

With the customer

  • Arrive at the agreed time and say who you are.
  • Protect floors, walls and belongings while you work.
  • Explain any extra work and its cost, and get agreement before doing it.

The work

  • Find the cause of a fault before replacing parts.
  • Choose equipment that suits the site and the need.
  • Fix equipment and cables neatly and securely.
  • Clean up before you leave.

Testing and handover

  • Test the system when the work is done, and record the results.
  • Show the customer how to use, switch off and look after the system.
  • Hand over test results, model and serial numbers, warranty papers and a service contact.
  • App and camera accounts belong to the customer. Keep their passwords and recordings private.
  • The job is done only when the customer understands how to use the system.

How INGAA checks

  • New professionals work under supervision until they pass a practical check on this standard.
  • Every safety item must pass. A pass covers only the type of work checked: a solar pass does not cover CCTV work.
  • INGAA reviews early jobs and a sample of later ones. Repeat faults are looked into to find the cause.
  • Customer feedback counts, but it does not replace the technical check.
  • A professional is checked again after a serious incident or a change in the work they do.
