Observe without opening equipment
Use the manufacturer's normal user controls and display instructions. Record the fault message, time and affected loads from a safe location. Keep clear of exposed conductors, damaged enclosures, water near electrical equipment and fallen cables. A solar installation or battery system can have more than one source of electrical energy.
- Do not remove covers, bypass protection or repeatedly reset a tripping device.
- Keep children and bystanders away from damaged equipment.
- Treat roof access and panel cleaning as planned work with appropriate protection.
Prepare a useful service request
INGAA owner checklist: provide the model, warranty details and a concise description of the symptom. Explain whether the problem followed rain, an outage or building work. Do not put yourself at risk to take a photograph. Where there is smoke, fire or immediate danger, leave the area and contact emergency services; a website enquiry is not an emergency channel.
- Request a competent technician and documented findings.
- Keep the installation and service records together.
- Follow the site-specific emergency instructions supplied at handover.
